We are hiring an experienced dental assistant to help make our office more efficient and pleasant for patients. Your schedule will be Monday-Thursday and two Saturdays per year. You’ll ensure excellent customer service of the clinical staff while assisting the dentist in all matters. Dental assistants who apply should be well-organized with great attention to detail and be able to provide direct and indirect patient care involving IV sedation, oral surgery and a wide variety of general dentistry to make clinic procedures as smooth as possible. You must have all current certifications and be willing to undergo a background check and drug test.
Responsibilities
- Use leadership skills to facilitate dental assistant team
- Help maintain dental supplies
- Ensure patients feel welcomed into practice
- Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
- Assist the dentist chair-side
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed
- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
- Maintain accurate patient records
Skills
- Proven experience and leadership as dental assistant
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Well-organized and reliable
- Additional certification or training is an asset
