Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Employment Specialist to join our team. As an Employment Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with developmental disabilities and addiction issues in finding and maintaining employment. Your primary focus will be on workforce development, training, mentoring, and recruiting to empower individuals towards successful employment opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Educate and guide individuals with developmental disabilities and addiction concerns on employment opportunities
- Conduct interviews to assess skills, interests, and job readiness
- Develop individualized employment plans based on client needs and goals
- Collaborate with employers to match suitable candidates with job openings
- Provide ongoing support and mentoring to clients in the workplace
- Stay updated on employment labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- Participate in workforce development programs to enhance clients' employability
- Assist in expanding community partnerships for client recruitment
Qualifications:
- Experience in social work or related field
- Knowledge of employment labor laws and regulations
- Strong skills in educating, training development, and workforce development
- Proficiency in interviewing techniques
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or addiction counseling is a plus
- Ability to mentor and support individuals towards achieving employment goals
- Excellent recruiting abilities to match candidates with suitable job opportunities
