REBAR DETAILER
Job Description
A rebar detailer performs routine to moderately complex drawings, detailing and other related duties to produce plans necessary for the fabrication and placement of reinforcing steel bars and related accessories in accordance with customer contract documents, industry standards and/or established practices and procedures. The ability to read, understand, and critique architectural and structural blueprints leading to the production of take-offs and material lists is crucial. Detailers use care to ensure the efficient use of materials, fabrication methods and timely delivery of finished products.
Duties/Responsibilities
· Produce rebar drawings that conform to industry and company standards for various structures using CADD programs.
· Produce accurate and detailed lists of materials for shop fabrication
· Produce material/quantity take offs for residential and commercial projects
· Work closely with engineers, architects, contractors, rebar fabricators, delivery drivers, and billing department to foresee the project runs as smoothly as possible.
· Assist with the research of detailing, fabrication and field problems.
· Coordinate and account for any changes in our scope of work
· Maintain accurate records, a desirable work area, and a high level of customer service
· Assist with any other duties as assigned or needed
Experience and Education
Associates degree in drafting or design a plus. Three years of experience drafting in construction field. Experience and education may be substituted for one another. Ability to read and understand project specifications, drawings, and details required. Some knowledge of concrete and rebar codes is an advantage.
Skills, Licensing, and Certifications
· Demonstrated knowledge of rebar detailing per industry standards
· Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· Adept at functioning well in a team-oriented environment
· Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
· Strong math skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to anticipate problems and develop contingency plans
· Analytical reasoning
