Overview:
The Production Manager for Landscape Construction will be primarily responsible for managing the production of, and overseeing the landscape construction front line. The Production Manager will monitor crew members and work with as needed to ensure their duties are carried out to the fullest, that jobs are completed following specifications, and that the jobs are completed with the highest quality expected. The Production Manager will also be responsible for developing and maintaining excellent quality and proper communication with/between the landscape construction front line and the Project Manager of Landscape Construction regarding scheduling, ordering, changes, site conditions, etc. before, during and after the installation of projects. Secondarily, the Production Manager will assist all other division Production Managers in the management and care of fleet vehicles, equipment servicing, and material/supply on property upkeep.
Responsibilities:
- Works together with the Project Manager to build strong relationships, and to understand demands of clients through effective communication, crew training and regular site visits.
- Assists in developing construction crew schedules, completion timelines and equipment requirements to ensure delivery of quality service, customer satisfaction and client needs are fully met as well as ensuring efficient use of materials, equipment and crews.
- Assists the Project Manager of Landscape Construction as needed to estimate, propose, and sell enhancements; ensure enhancements delivered on time and on budget.
- Assists the Project Manager as needed in overseeing subcontractors to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assists the Project Manager with checking/inspecting of projects to ensure cleanliness and quality service.
- Reviews, completes, and submits in all necessary paperwork on time. This includes time sheets, crew mobile, Aspire Time Entry, work orders, change orders, purchase receipts, etc.
- Oversees and manages equipment, tools, and vehicles for division.
- Trains the Construction Division front line in proper use and management of all equipment, tools, vehicles.
- Reports any problems with equipment directly to Landscape Construction Team.
- Ensures equipment sheds and all facilities are kept clean and well organized.
- Ensures all vehicles and office space are tidy and organized.
- Ensures on-the-job safety by developing, enforcing, and participating in safety training and attendance at meetings.
- Motivates and mentor foremen and crew members in green industry best practices.
- Maintains knowledge of plant material and horticultural practices.
- Pursues continuing education and maintains licenses in green industry practices.
- Follows company policies and procedures and enforces these policies with Landscape Construction Division staff.
- Collaborates with Company Production Managers to holistically care for, upkeep records, and manage needs of Grow and Co. Fleet.
- Collaborates with Company Production Managers in the opening/closing procedures to ensure front line is supported.
- Collaborates with Company Production Managers in the management, maintenance, storage, and training of shared materials/equipment/tools.
- Primarily responsible for interviewing, hiring, and terminating front line construction employees in effort to ensure Grow and Co. standards and project completion goals can be met.
- Performs other duties as directed by Director.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the landscaping industry (Required)
- A minimum of 3 years of prior experience in a supervisory role (Required)
- 2-year degree or more in a landscape-related field or certification by a landscape association (Preferred)
- Bilingual - Spanish (Preferred)
