Job description
A leading manufacturer of Aerial Work platforms is looking for an experienced service professional for the Southeast region. A qualified candidate will have worked in the off-highway equipment industry, preferably the construction rental industry, and is comfortable working independently across the region. Primary customers are rental companies so familiarity with rental operations and heavy equipment is helpful. Travel of 1-3 nights per week, 3 weeks per month is frequently required. Will work closely with territory Sales Managers to maximize customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist and direct customers with resolving technical issues with machines and rental fleets.
- Become a technical expert and resource to customer base on current and future MEC product offerings.
- Assist regional Sales team as needed for customer events, new product launch deliveries and establishing new customer relationships in the region.
- Liaison for territory customer base to factory production, engineering, parts, and warranty departments
Qualifications:
- Associate/Technical degree and/or experience equivalent to a minimum of 3-5 years related experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in a customer service environment with a positive history of customer satisfaction.
- Strong technical background focusing on troubleshooting of D/C electrical control systems. A/C and hydraulic drive control systems and computer controlled hydraulic systems in mobile and off-road equipment.
- Excellent communicator both verbally and written.
- Highly self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently without constant direction.
- Be part of a team environment. Open to consistent collaboration. Willingness to contribute for the betterment of the team and communicate effectively across multiple digital platforms.
- Ability to communicate and de-escalate customer dissatisfaction in a professional manner.
- Possess a current driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Have or be able to obtain a valid USA passport and credit card for company travel expenses.
- Willingness to travel regionally, domestically, and internationally up to 70% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to deliver product familiarization training in a shop and/or classroom environment regarding the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of MEC Aerial Equipment.
- Direct OEM aftersales support experience in aerial equipment industry or heavy equipment industry.
- Experience working in a field territory along with being in a highly visible customer facing position.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, CRM solutions, and digital platforms daily.
- 3-5 years direct experience with diagnosing CAN bus-based equipment, diesel, and gasoline engine diagnostic software, and electric over hydraulic control systems.
