Job brief
We are looking for a Controller to develop accounting policies and oversee all financial procedures of our company.
The Controller will report directly to the CFO and will be a key member of the management team out of the Dallas office. The Controller will have the overall responsibility for the timeliness and accuracy of the general accounting functions, including financial statements, A/P, A/R, and the general ledger. They will also need to be a financial leader and original thinker, taking the company through planning, budgeting, and financial modeling exercises. Must have QSR Restaurant OR Hospitality experience/background.
Responsibilities:
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts
- Manage the prompt and accurate preparation of periodic financial reports and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Lead and manage the budgeting process and provide strategic financial analysis and business consulting to operations management
- Effectively utilize business analysis tools for projects such as cost of sales improvement, return on investment capital, new business opportunities and third-party business risk analysis
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with generally accepted policies and procedures
- Fixed Assets: tracking of assets when put in service and replaced and management of depreciation schedules
- Ensure sales tax returns are filed by the due date after review and verification and maintain compliance with all taxing authorities
- Financial audit preparation and coordination of the audit process
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
- Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
Requirements and skills:
- Work experience as a Controller or similar role
- Experience in the same or similar industry, a strong plus
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation
- Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills,
- Must have the ability to independently complete multiple complex and challenging financial functions on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
- BSc or MSc in Accounting or Finance

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
