Human Resources Assistant
Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day operations, organization and processes of the HR function, providing maximum support to all Shore Educational Collaborative staff, including supporting initiatives that aim to improve diversity, equity and inclusion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the onboarding process for all new hires including, job offers, background checks, fingerprinting results and new hire paperwork.
- Coordinates and conducts new-hire orientations.
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork.
- Maintains filing system for all past and present employees, keeping database and paper files (I-9, Cori, Sori, personnel, medical, Workers Comp, FMLA, Short & Long-Term Disability) and all records up to date.
- Manages Driver Record Check system through RMV online service center by submitting inquiries upon requests ensuring employee licenses and insurance information is up to date and updating record reviews consistent with Shore’s Policy.
- Coordinates student internships with hiring supervisors, including conducting background checks and establishing central file protocol.
- Prepares Suitability letters.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Collaborates with the HR Director during Open Enrollment
- Enrolls and updates employee benefits through the GIC and other insurance carriers.
- Maintains personnel records in our tracking systems according to Shore requirements.
- Enrolls and maintains staff in the appropriate retirement system (Mass. State Retirement or MTRS).
- Prepares all separation paperwork and notifications.
- Becomes familiar with duties of other team members and assists them with projects in peak flow time when requested.
- Attend and participate in all office meetings or events as assigned by the HR Director
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn HR software.
- Ability to work successfully and collaboratively in an Administration environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and data integrity.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study or at least two years experience in Human Resources role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FMLA and Workers compensation laws.
- Basic knowledge of HRIS tracking systems including School Pro, Harpers Payroll.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Google Docs.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm
Salary range: 62,000 - 75,000
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
