Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the evaluation and disposition of castings deemed suspect on the production floor. The Technician is responsible to review suspect material, report issues to the upstream processes and train operators on acceptance standards for the material.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Monitor the production lines for castings deemed suspect for material defects by production operators
· Assist as a first level responder to quality concerns concerning the material and function as link between Machining and Foundry
· Work with operators, team leader and supervisor to ensure quality of parts produced
· Promote awareness of acceptance standards
· Evaluate parts against drawing or internal acceptance standards
· Assist with problem solving / RCA as required
· Support QM, Quality Engineer, PPAP activities as required
· Use computer and general knowledge of Microsoft Office, etc.
· Effectively coach and counsel and other administrative tasks as assigned
· Focused and committed efforts toward sustainable development
· Assure 100% compliance with safety regulations within the department
· Assist in other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Experience in manufacturing in a technical capacity preferred
· Foundry knowledge preferred

· Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Physical Requirements:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
· The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
