Stonehill College invites applicants for a full-time position as the Internship Coordinator for the Sciences. The Coordinator of Internships for the Sciences will oversee the procurement and management of all internships in Psychology and Health Science, as well as some clinical internships for other science majors such as Neuroscience and Biology. We seek candidates with a minimum of a master’s degree or its equivalent in a mental health or allied-health fields such as social work, behavioral or public health, nursing, or rehabilitation services, and are committed to working with students who seek field internships in clinical settings. The Coordinator will partner with the Department Chairs from Psychology, Health Science, Biology, Chemistry, and the Director of the Neuroscience program in support of students majoring in these fields. The Coordinator will work closely with each student and the Registrar’s Office to facilitate the successful approval of student U.S. Internship Applications enabling student enrollment of credit for internship hours. This job provides a variety of job duties and activities that support a department, team, or individuals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include working with students full-time during each semester and part-time over the summer months to match them with internships in the greater Boston, MA, and Providence, RI areas as well as locally in the Easton/Brockton community. The Coordinator will also be responsible for seeking out and building new relationships with potential internship sites in the greater Boston, MA, and Providence, RI areas as well as locally in the Easton/Brockton community. The Coordinator will be expected to formalize a system of communication with students across and/or within majors regarding internship opportunities. The Coordinator will meet with students who are enrolled in internships off campus to oversee the students’ experiences, which may include requesting and reviewing site supervisor feedback and reviewing student journals. The Coordinator will coordinate with Department Chairs, as needed for each department, for the final internship assessment. Last, the Coordinator will be a support for the students on campus.
Education and/or Experience
We seek candidates with a minimum of a master’s degree or its equivalent in a mental health or allied-health fields such as social work, behavioral or public health, nursing, or rehabilitation services.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate their ability to effectively communicate with affiliate organizations and offices within and outside of the Stonehill College community as a college representative via in-person meetings, email, and phone and to be a supportive mentor and Coordinator for undergraduate science students seeking a clinical internship. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate effective relationship-building within and outside of the college, best documentation practices, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. This will be a full-time position, fall and spring semesters, and 5 hours per week in the summer months. Although there will be a need for a weekly on-campus presence during the academic calendar year, the Coordinator will also be able to remotely work part of the time. The position is to begin in August 2024.

The coordinator will work both in person as well as remotely on a weekly basis.
