About us
Yuma County Water Users' Association is a private not-for-profit business located in the heart of Yuma, Arizona's thriving agricultural industry. We maintain approximately 70 employees and operate with a $9 million annual budget.
The Association was founded in 1903, just one year after the passing of the Reclamation Act, as a private non-profit corporation under the laws of the Territory of Arizona for the development and funding of the Valley Division of the Yuma Project. The Project is one of the oldest and most successful of Reclamation projects.
Our landowners hold the most senior Colorado River water entitlements in the state. The Valley Division of the Project has some 53,450 irrigable acres in Arizona. Some 45,000 acres of prime farmland are currently farmed, producing annually over 80,000 crop acres due to year round multi cropping.
