Job Summary:
The Export Manager is responsible for compliance, growth of business, development and profitability of department in accordance with annual business plan and budgets.
Essential Functions:
- Assumes accountability for:
- Customs compliance/statements and best operational practices
- Employee development goals, performance, productivity and morale
- Customer service levels, business development and growth
- Meeting/exceeding all corporate performance KPI’s
- Accurate billing practices
- Responsible for profitability through:
- Budget monitoring
- Cash flow analysis ( A/R,COTS,ACH,Open Job )
- Performance monitoring ( Radar reports )
- Market/customer analysis
- Preparation of quotations for new/existing business
- Responsible for all regulatory issues within the department such as classifications, port entry and problem resolution. Coordinated effort under direction of the Regional Compliance Manager.
- Provide sales support as necessary.
- Manages Partnership / Agent relationship development
- Performs Bid/RFI/RFQ cost/benefit analysis & price authorization.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience, 2 in a managerial/supervisory position
- Knowledge of Transportation industry, Import/Global transportation/Regulatory and business development
- Standard hours and additional time as necessary
- Must maintain professional attitude and appearance at all times
- To ensure that all decisions and actions take into account the utmost safety in respect to the quality of the Environment, and health of employees and contractors in which BDP interacts with on a daily basis.
- Knowledge of import and export procedures.
- Proven sales record in securing and maintaining customer base.
- Completion of any industry related course is an asset.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or overseas agents.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on various topics to customers, top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
