The Youth Behavioral Health Community Crisis Center team focuses on building healthy relationships and teaching appropriate social skills, coping skills, and anger management skills. SUMMARY
The Youth Clinical Crisis Clinician is responsible for maintaining functions within the scope of practice as established by the contract developed through the Department of Health and Welfare regarding the Youth Behavioral Health Community Crisis Center (YBHCCC)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining functions within the scope of practice as established by the contract developed through DHW regarding the PYCCCSI
- Facilitates completion of all initial behavioral health assessments when clients experiencing a behavioral health crisis present at the crisis center, within 1 hour of client’s arrival
- Identifies client’s immediate needs to facilitate discharge from the crisis center
- De-escalates clients experiencing an acute behavioral health crisis
- Ensures delivery of services as identified in the crisis center contract, managed by the Department of Health and Welfare. Typical services may include but are not limited to: crisis and risk factor assessment, providing emergency/crisis psychotherapy services including de-escalation for clients experiencing acute mental health crisis, providing individual/group/family psychotherapy, coordinating/collaborating with identified treatment team members, creating discharge/aftercare plans to ensure ongoing stabilization for clients leaving the crisis center, and reporting issues of legal, ethical or safety to the proper channels
- Documents all provided psychotherapy services in client’s record as established by the contract managed by the Department of Health and Welfare. Typical tasks include, but may not be limited to: accurate documentation of participant assessments in the designated EHR System;, Crisis Evaluation, Risk Assessments, Mental Status Exam, and Treatment Plan. As well as Encounter / Miscellaneous, Periodic reviews, and Termination summaries/ Discharge Plans
- Collaborates routinely with State Director, Director of Operations, State Clinical Director, Crisis Center Program Manager, clients and other key personnel as identified as essential to client care
- Demonstrates competence/knowledge with regards and implementation of both effective psychological theories and clinical practice
- If applicable completes required continued education annually in the field of licensure as required by the State of Idaho Licensing Board. Maintains current professional licensure within field of practice to the standards/ requirements as set by the Bureau of occupational Licenses
- Maintains confidentiality of all client documents, files and communication in written, electronic and/or verbal form
- Engages in team activities for the client and in order to meet client needs such as, but not limited to, completing team staffings after every client’s admission and at the start of every therapist’s shift, providing for client with regard to creating a welcoming atmosphere, and maintaining a clean and positive environment (i.e. picking up after a client whom nursing staff puts in the shower, giving meals and cleaning up leftovers after the client eats, completing laundry and other chores)

TRAVEL
- This position may require travel.
- Personal vehicle would be used for travel.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree in relevant field
- One of the following licenses in the state of Idaho: LMSW, LPC, LCPC, LCSW, LMFT
- Valid Driver License with clean driving record (as needed; when applicable per Program)
- Valid Auto Insurance coverage (as needed; when applicable per Program)
- Ability to pass background checks, including Enhanced Fingerprinting with ID DHW.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and be flexible.
- Interpret a variety of instructions and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to teach coping/life skills while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries with clients
- Effectively prioritize and manage time
- Able to perform basic word processing and utilize Electronic Medical Records (EHR) system for the completion of tasks or has the ability to learn these skills.
- Read, analyze, and interpret state regulations and corporate policies. Capacity to establish written treatment plans as directly related to identified clinic service needs, effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff, clients and the public.
- Identify solutions to practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
