Job Purpose: As a Facilities Technician I, you will use your skills to provide mechanical, electrical, and technical support to all departments, while learning to conduct routine maintenance and repairs on various machines on the production floor.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide prompt and effective facilities support in the areas of routine maintenance, carpentry, light electrical, painting, plumbing, and preventative maintenance.
· Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
· Provide support in assessing and repairing all potential safety hazards.
· Perform preventative maintenance on facilities equipment.
· Must be able to safely use standard hand tools, hand power tools including drill motors and skill saws.
Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
- 2-5 years of mechanical and electrical repairs
- Forklift certifiable
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical and/or Electrical field
- 2-5 years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards.
- Project Management experience
- Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.
Physical Job Requirements:
This position requires the employee to work comfortably and safely in an office and shop environment. While performing the duties of the position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to work at heights approaching 30’ above the floor from a stationary work platform. This position involves occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad or to write, as well as talk and hear.
