ChildNet Youth & Family Services, Inc. is currently seeking a Bilingual Case Manager for our Behavioral Health Services (BHS) division in Long Beach, CA.
Behavioral Health Services (BHS) provides comprehensive mental health services, including individual/group therapy for at-risk children and their families. The Bilingual Case Manager will be responsible for maintaining the files of their assigned caseload. The Case Manager shall be responsible for providing ongoing support to clients and their families through assessment and evaluation of their needs. The position will assist in coordinating services with referring agencies, obtaining signatures, and completing necessary paperwork for clients who are receiving services through ChildNet. The Bilingual Case Manager will provide interpretation and translation services as needed to both the Clinical and Administrative staff. The position is required to attend various staff meetings and interact with administrative and clinical staff on various issues.
The Bilingual Case Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Interpret counseling sessions and psychiatric sessions on-site, virtually, and/or in the field, as assigned.
- Translate English documents into Spanish as assigned.
- Research case management resources for staff to provide to clients.
- Organize and communicate resources that are available for clients weekly.
- Provide case management services as needed in the office, in client’s home and/or school, and maintain client EHR pertaining to case management for all active and inactive cases assigned to the caseload.
- Collaborate with clinicians and psychiatrists for an interdisciplinary approach regarding all case management services related to the caseload, including coordination and collaboration with clients’ caregivers, DCFS, etc.
- Attend team meetings, all-staff meetings, and any other meetings and training as required or requested.
- Maintain availability to assist with emergency situations during office hours.
- Assist with performing Intake Support duties as requested.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
The Bilingual Case Manager shall possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field of study; AND/OR
- Minimum of two years of experience in a mental health-related field.
- Bilingual proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding Spanish is required.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge/skill in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, and other required software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
- Ability communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
All offers of employment with ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. are contingent upon a post-offer, pre-hire medical clearance with an occupational physical, tuberculosis screening, and a negative drug test. A background clearance which consists of fingerprinting through the Dept. of Justice/FBI/Child Abuse Index Search is required. Underwriting requirements of this agency include keeping a valid California driver’s license, valid auto liability insurance on file, and maintaining a good driving record while employed.
