8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary.
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to process Federal Direct and private alternative loans. This position also provides assistance and information to students and parents regarding federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs as well as general administrative support to the Senior Assistant Director for Loans.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school and one year of related office experience; or an equivalent combination of education
and experience.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school and demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through three years of specialized office experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Job Duties
- Manage a dedicated caseload for processing Federal Direct PLUS and Alternative Loan applications.
- Process Loan Change request forms submitted by loan borrowers.
- Review changes to students’ loan eligibility due academic progress and update award as necessary.
- Provide follow-up to students and/or parents on outstanding items such as incomplete or missing loan application requirements for processing.
- Problem solve loan errors from lenders or Dept. of Education.
- Assist the Senior Assistant Director of Loans with other projects as needed.

Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
- High School Diploma Required
- Associate degree or higher in related field preferred
- A minimum of 1 year higher education experience preferred
- Knowledge of federal Title IV and state regulations or experience working in a similar capacity within higher education
- Knowledge of Financial Aid management systems
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Experience working independently and demonstrated initiative
- Ability to be a team player with a strong work ethic
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to self-manage multiple projects while working under deadlines during peak times of the year
- Must have a strong commitment to customer service and student success
