Position: Shop QC Inspector
Reports to: QA/QC Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Purpose: Has the responsibility and authority to ensure that all jobs meet the company’s quality standards. Responsible for directing and training company personnel in all phases of construction and design with regard to quality.
Work Schedule: Normal work period is Monday-Friday dayshift (10 hr. shifts).
Essential Skills (must possess the ability to)
May include but not limited to:
- Prepares and maintains corporate QA/QC policies and procedures. Reviews and analyzes other department’s procedures for compliance with corporate expectations.
- Directs quality audits and inspections to insure all quality control requirements are implemented and/or maintained.
- Participates in review meetings to resolve areas of nonconformance. Follows-up to insure corrections are implemented timely and effectively.
- Ensures that third-party vendors, suppliers and sub-contractors adhere to company quality standards and requirements on all projects.
- Analyze and interpret technical drawings and procedures
- Demonstrate computer literacy and capability of learning and using all company software.
- Address problems and resolve conflict with tact and professionalism.
- Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions and inquiries from management, clients and site staff.
- Work within company policy as outlined in the H+M Employee Handbook as well as the H+M Safety Manual and OSHA Safety rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Essential Qualifications
- VT and PT Level II certs or CWI required
- 4+year of experience executing QC Inspector responsibilities within a shop environment.
- 4+ years of experience in related field required.
- Prior experience with Weld logs, data entry, hydrotesting, and NDE coordination required.
- High school diploma, or equivalent required.
- Working knowledge in the following disciplines; Civil, Structural, Pipe, Mechanical, and Welding required.
- Strong written and oral communication skill
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Sit for long periods of time
- Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch
- Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects
Environment: Most work time is spent in an office or on the manufacturing facility grounds. These manufacturing facilities can be dusty, dirty, noisy and occasionally hazardous. Work is often performed under pressure and stress, especially when facing completion deadlines.

Pay: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour
