Purpose:
The Non-Foods Associate works as part of a team to stock and arrange merchandise while ensuring each customer receives "Extra Step" customer service.
Job Functions:
- Provide "Extra Step" customer service to every customer
- Operate equipment (e.g. safety cutter, baler, electric & manual hand jack)
- Count and sort incoming products to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices
- Examine stock for damaged product and place in designated areas
- Order product using order gun and maintain product inventory
- Break down loads and move cases of product to aisles using two or six wheeler
- Match order codes, UPC codes, or product descriptions to shelf tags before stocking shelves
- Stock shelves, rotate product, and condition aisles, according to policies for leveling and facing
- Set up and take down displays and/or shelves according to manager's instructions
- Order signs and make signs using the proper signage template
- Clear aisles of debris for customer safety
- Work actions include standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and squatting
- Lift products weighing up to 65 lbs. (ex: floor to waist overhead)
- Push or pull stock carts with loads weighing up to 250 lbs. and two-wheelers with loads weighing up to 175 lbs.
- Keep work area sanitary by using company approved cleaners and equipment
- May be cross-trained in other departments

- Conform to Dierbergs dress code, appearance, and personal hygiene standards
- Be flexible in scheduling (including weekends and holidays)
- Maintain prompt, regular, and dependable attendance as scheduled
Must be able to:
- Read basic information (ex: shelf tags, invoices, safety signs, customer coupons)
- Locate information from ad planners, code books, UPC symbols
- Use basic computer skills
