We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic Plastic Surgery & Dermatology practice in Orlando, Florida. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and compliance within the practice.
Responsibilities:
- Provide circulator support during surgery cases and manage patient recovery during general anesthesia procedures.
- Assist and oversee the setup of surgical cases, instrumentation, and patient discharge to ensure optimal patient care.
- Triage patient calls, update patient communication records, and follow up on medical clearances, tests, and orders.
- Prepare and coordinate follow-up on medical orders, including hospital orders and diagnostic tests.
- Assist with in-office procedures, ensuring consents are signed, instruments sterilized, and procedure rooms properly set up.
- Conduct patient outreach before and after surgery, providing guidance and monitoring progress.
Duties:
- Circulate on surgery cases, record start/end times, and ensure adherence to surgical standards and logs.
- Perform recovery room activities, including patient admission, vital sign monitoring, and postoperative assessments.
- Collaborate with the surgical team and communicate patient condition changes to the team.
- Maintain logs for equipment, emergency protocols, and clinical supplies to ensure readiness and compliance.
- Assist physicians on consultations, preoperative appointments, skincare treatments, and postoperative care.
- Manage lab specimens, prepare paperwork, follow up on results, and communicate findings to patients and doctors.
- Participate in maintaining a clean and safe environment, performing regular inspections, and coordinating cleaning services.
- Assist with cross-covering clinical risk management tasks after training.
Qualifications:
- Current clear and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a surgical setting.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Strong understanding of surgical standards and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in surgical procedure support, patient recovery, and medical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- Proven ability to handle high-pressure situations and emergency protocols.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities.
