Position: Jewelry Customer Service Coordinator

Job Description
We are looking for a customer service dynamo with excellent writing, communication and organizational skills, to add to our front office team. Having client facing experience is a plus, as well as having an interest in jewelry and how it is made. Your main responsibility is to assist our clients and support your peers. You will become knowledgeable on basic bookkeeping, navigating our customized work in progress software, and how jewelry is manufactured.
This is located on Jewelers Row, in Downtown Chicago. We’re a jewelry manufacturer, specializing in custom-made items, and require someone with a lot of energy, ability to roll with the punches, and enthusiasm to satisfy clients. The right person will be friendly, responsible, resourceful, and able to work well on a team.
There is a basic bookkeeping component to the role. You will be using QuickBooks in tandem with our work in progress software for invoicing, receiving payments, and accounting functions. We do have a separate Finance and Accounting team responsible for the heavy lifting, this role will complement that team.
Previous team members in this position have moved into Manufacturing, Design, and Management positions.
Duties
· Greet in person/local clients as they arrive for job drop off or pickup
· Respond timely and grammatically correct to remote clients inquiries
· Forward call inquiries to appropriate staff
· Enter job orders into our work in progress software
· Run daily reports to ensure client jobs are on track for completion
· Invoice orders upon completion and prepare shipments for remote clients
· Work with our Casting and CAM departments when challenging jobs arise
· Ensure front office is clean and help manage supplies.
· Process and enter payments
· Perform other tasks as needed
Requirements
· Enthusiasm
· Previous customer service experience
· Excellent communication skills
· QuickBooks experience is a plus
· Familiar with spreadsheets excel and google sheets a plus
· Attention to detail
· Jewelry knowledge, eagerness to learn about jewelry is helpful
