GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: The Spa Retreat Supervisor will support all Spa Attendants as well as Lifeguard staff in the Retreat area by ensuring that all Standard Operating Procedures are maintained. Oversee organization of the Aqua Garden, Renewal Retreat as well as guest grooming areas, relaxation and locker areas, issuing robes, slippers and lockers to all guests. Stock and replenish all guest and professional supplies including the removal of used linen to appropriate storage areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Direct daily activities of the men’s/women’s retreat area by working in conjunction with the team during assigned shifts.
- Direct the daily activities of the Lifeguard attendants and be willing to certify as a Lifeguard for shift coverage as needed.
- Ensure that all spa attendants provide appropriate and consistent levels of guest service and hospitality while addressing inconsistencies and/or lack of service on a regular basis.
- Ensure that cleanliness standards and inventory levels of all supplies are maintained in the retreats, Aqua Garden areas, Renewal Retreat and Horizon Patio.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, sandals, linen, as well as amenities for the guests. Provide weekly inventory as well as communicate supply orders to the Operations Manager in a timely manner.
- Have an awareness of individual guests’ movement through the spa and provide personal attention to guests.
- Stay current on all department information, become well-versed and trained in its application and educate spa attendants accordingly.
- Maintain current knowledge of all spa programs and company information including handbook policies and be able to explain appropriately to staff.
- Work cooperatively and professionally with all departments.
- Actively participate in the interview and hiring process of spa attendants.
- Actively participate in the training process for all new hire spa attendants.
- Perform 30/60/90 day reviews for all new retreat attendants.
- Attend regular meetings as directed by the Spa Operations Assistant Manager/Manager
- Perform special projects as required by the Spa Operations Assistant Manager/Manager.
- Conduct tours of the facilities as necessary
- Will be able to work morning or evening, any day of the week, and also on holidays.
- Prepare and provide weekly staffing schedules to the Spa Operations Assistant Manager/Manager taking into account staff PTO requests as well as scheduling to expected house counts.
- Receive staff call outs for scheduled shifts and ensure that all shifts are covered or provide coverage as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
