We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our team, reporting directly to our Corporate Controller. This pivotal role offers a competitive salary ranging from $68,000 to $70,000, commensurate with experience.
The Senior Staff Accountant serves as a linchpin in supporting the company's accounting function and providing ad-hoc support to the operations management team. With a focus on flexibility, problem-solving, and autonomy, this role entails a diverse range of responsibilities beyond routine accounting tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of liability, asset, and capital accounts for month-end closing.
- Prepare detailed financial status and transaction reports to inform strategic decision-making.
- Contribute actively to the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring financial stability and growth.
- Manage monthly customer invoicing and accounts receivable collections.
- Oversee time and attendance summarization for seamless payroll processing.
- Perform monthly bank account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.
- Provide valuable insights for enhancing accounting systems and procedures.
- Lead the development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to fortify internal controls.
- Support cross-functional management teams with value-added services and solutions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely completion.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge & Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently and meeting deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project ownership.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Keen attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational prowess.
- Experienced in training and mentoring junior staff members.
Training & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with a minimum of 5 years in team management.
- Recent intermediate to advanced proficiency in QuickBooks.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with Paycom payroll processing and systems analysis is advantageous.
