Summary/Objective:
The production supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the product meets all specifications and standards of quality and all customer requirements, are met. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training production team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising and managing team member performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The production supervisor leads shift supervisors and team leaders, maintains standardized work processes, 5-S and Lean initiatives, PPE & employee safety, and other necessary tools to achieve production objectives and report performance against KPI’s.

- Foster and develop teamwork, cooperation and openness using employee empowerment concepts. Ensures that the manufacturing function is operating in compliance with facility policies, the employee handbook, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Lead by example in promoting safety practices and policies.
- Conducts daily production meeting with CFT to ensure required resources are met for production.
- Lead and ensure required labor head has been in place to meet daily production demands
- Works with the Human Resources Department in hiring or terminating employees, safety programs, labor forecasting and other employee services.
- Responsible for meeting schedules and for remedial action when delivery dates are not being met.
- Directs and supervises the production operation to ensure attainment of the Unit’s productivity and profit goals.
- Assist month-month forecast planning for all production departments
- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as part numbers, quantities, scheduled delivery dates etc., to plan department operations.
- Develop a 5S plan & implement continuous monitoring of 5S, corrective actions if goals are not met.
- Develop production KPI’s, in addition to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for each department with continuous monitoring & corrective actions if goals are not met.
- Ensures to stop production if not meeting product specifications/ customer requirements & notifies change management, CFT to have corrective actions before resuming production.
- Assist to problem solving using 6-sigma, 8D, or other automotive/related tools to countermeasure a problem’s root cause and standardize the changes made to correct the problem.
- Monitor FIFO followed every day for each departments & proper disposition of suspect material to designated quality hold area
- Confirm defects/ suspect material and confer with the CFT to coordinate the appropriate disposition & facilitate the proper completion of scrap documentation.
- Assist cycle count inventory for each part number for every department in a designated interval.
- Ensures & monitor timely completion of preventative maintenance for each equipment/machinery that supports production activities.
- Participate in all applicable elements of the IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and TS 16949 standards to ensure the plant is continuously prepared for internal and external audits.
- Ensures Layered Process Audits are performed and monitors timely completion by Group Lead/Team Lead
- Assist production launch by ensuring APQP process has been followed
- Work with Operations Manager to prepare and present decks for operational performance, Provides additional analysis and reports upon request.
- Monitor the training, coaching, and mentoring of trainee, and be a resource to Group lead & Team Lead.
- Educate and train all persons of the designed Evacuation Plan. The route to take, the area to rendezvous, and the importance of cooperation and attention.
- Manages direct labor’s schedule, attendance, vacation request, paid time off.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Personal protective equipment is required in all manufacturing areas including, but not limited to, hearing and eye protection, and slip resistant safety shoes.
Required Education and Experience
- This position requires a degree in either business administration, or industrial management or equivalent, with minimum 5 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing or related positions in another manufacturing industry.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
