About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a passionate and hardworking Sales Manager to join our growing company! This is an unique opportunity to join a fast-growing startup early and to make a meaningful impact in a leadership role. As Sales Manager, you will blend your talent for people development and operational sales knowledge to drive results. In this role, you will manage, motivate, and optimize our sales team and processes. You will work with our founders on developing team metrics and directly managing 6-8 direct reports. You will help train and mentor account executives and sales team members to develop a high-performing team.
As a direct report to the founders, you will be tasked with optimizing the outbound and inbound sales motions and teams. You’ll be working with the team to set the strategy, lead the execution, and work to optimize everything you can. In your day-to-day, you will coach, mentor, and guide the team in developing consultative and solution-based sales skills. You will work closely with our operations and customer service teams to ensure all key sales processes work smoothly. We use custom software to manage orders, so you must be very comfortable with new technical tools and be able to work with the Operations and Development teams on working through issues, suggesting improvements, and teaching the sales team best practices on how to use these systems. You will be responsible for measuring your team metrics - some metrics are easy to pull from our CRM, while other metrics may not exist yet. You will be responsible for figuring out which metrics are important, setting goals per person, and holding the team accountable.
To thrive in this role, you will have a proven track record of successfully leading a sales team and sales operations in an early stage, high-growth environment. You have experience successfully navigating varying sales cycles and have the ability to jump on calls to assist your team. While we don’t expect you to join our company as an expert in all our products, you are expected to learn and grow into an expert within our sales team.
You may actively participate in customer on-sites for enterprise clients, calls, and any other assistance your team needs in getting deals closed, as well as attend major trade shows. The key part of the role is motivating individuals and the team to exceed objectives through coaching and mentorship. You will actively use our CRM to manage the sales process and set the standards for performance metrics.
