Facilities Coordinator

DAY-TO-DAY
As the Facilities Coordinator at our school, the day starts by overseeing the facility's maintenance, housekeeping, and janitorial cleaning tasks. Performing a range of manual work, from preventative maintenance to general repair of building equipment and systems, is all part of the job. This housekeeping role coordinates building repair and maintenance activities with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers throughout the day. Using their excellent communication skills, they ensure that all contractual obligations and expectations with vendors, including cleaning companies, are met. Additionally, they work on maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for the welfare of the students, help with emergency repairs, and oversee the upkeep of alarm and HVAC systems. The day is a mix of overseeing maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and managing facility resources effectively.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A FACILITIES COORDINATOR
● High school diploma or GED
● 5+ years of experience with facilities maintenance
● Ability to maintain comfortability working with vendors
● Comfortability with hands-on facilities maintenance work and doing some heavy lifting
● Ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments
● Capability to function independently and on a team
● Ability to pass a background check/drug screen
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
● Previous school experience
● Fantastic communication skills
● Excellent time-management skills
● Positive evaluations and recommendations from previous positions
● Demonstrated a strong growth mindset
● Knowledge or intention of implementing The Leader in Me with fidelity
