Position Title: Hotel Maintenance
Location: Ramada by Wyndham Kent-Seattle Area
Reports To: General Manager
Job Summary:
The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and functionality of all building systems and equipment. This includes performing routine and preventive maintenance, responding to maintenance requests, and addressing emergency repair needs. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of various trades including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on all hotel systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Inspect and maintain building exterior and interior, including windows, doors, and lighting fixtures.
- Perform general repairs such as painting, patching walls, and fixing flooring.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Maintain records of all maintenance activities and inspections.
- Guest Room Maintenance:
- Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Perform minor repairs and upkeep in guest rooms, such as fixing leaky faucets, unclogging toilets, and replacing light bulbs.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with hotel policies, local codes, and safety regulations.
- Identify and address potential safety hazards and ensure the hotel environment remains safe for guests and staff.
- Maintain and test safety equipment such as fire alarms, sprinklers, and emergency lighting.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner, including after-hours and weekends if necessary.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of critical systems to minimize downtime and ensure guest comfort.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other maintenance staff and hotel departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure seamless operations.
- Assist in training new maintenance team members as required.
- Inventory and Supplies:
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and reorder as necessary.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
- Report any major maintenance issues to the Maintenance Manager or Chief Engineer for further action.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service-oriented mindset.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights and in various environmental conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
