This is a great job for an experienced catering captain who is excited to execute detailed event plans that allow the most creative, compelling and meaningful events to happen brilliantly!
- Lead a high-performing staff that cares about doing a great job (We evaluate every person after every event so your evaluating/providing feedback on each person's performance translates to your leading a stronger team).
- Work on some of the most impactful/meaningful events for great clients who appreciate our work (and if that's ever not the case, we have your back and they will be former clients)
- Receive detailed job sheets in advance of your events allowing you to have a robust plan to set you up for success.
Bite Catering Couture, a boutique catering company is looking for on-call event captains. It's a flexible role where we publish events and allow you to take ones that work for your schedule.
We are thoughtful and process/ detail-focused with a warm approach to our clients. We are highly process driven and thematic, so the ability to lead a team through different event goals and requirements (at a very high level) is a key part of being a captain.
These positions are part-time, on-call (most work being evenings and weekends) and compensation is competitive. Captains should be experienced in fine dining, catering or banquet experience (high potentials based on experience in a lead server role can be trained). Applicants must be well groomed, have a positive attitude and reliable transportation.
Success in this role generally looks like:
- Experience with a wide range of successful events under your belt (and the unsuccessful ones that you've learned from)
- History of providing excellent customer service relative to the expectations and resources for the event.
- Exemplify a positive attitude and a constructive approach to dealing with realities that present themselves onsite
- Improvement-oriented - understanding why giving and receiving feedback is so important to people and the company getting better.
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation to events throughout the greater Los Angeles area
- Basic uniforms (white bistro and black bistro are the most standard)
- Have a valid California Food Handler Card
- Able to read English and follow laid out instructions and process
- Able to provide detailed feedback on both the event itself and the performance of each team member
- Neat and professional appearance
- Physically Fit -- Able to stand and work on your feet for extended hours
- Lift 50 Lbs. waist high repeatedly
Compensation
Base event rate of $27-$35/hour. + $100 bonus per event
