Job Summary:
Part of a multilingual team, the Program Aide supports the day-to-day operations of the center, providing essential assistance to both participants and staff. This role involves engaging with participants who speaks Spanish in various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and maintaining a positive and supportive environment.
Duties:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and leading recreational activities, social events, and therapeutic programs for participants.
- Provide direct care and support to participants, including assistance with daily living activities such as eating, toileting, and mobility.
- Monitor and document participants' health and behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to the Program Director or healthcare staff.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment by following proper procedures for hygiene, safety, and infection control.
- Assist with meal preparation and serving, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met.
- Escort participants to and from the center's transportation vehicles, as well as during off-site activities and appointments.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, promoting socialization and engagement among participants.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and program developments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director including meal program administration and marketing duties.
Requirements:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities in a healthcare or social services setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with participants, families, and staff.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards participants with diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively as part of a team, and adapt to changing situations.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems are a plus.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
