Job Description:
Zedcor is looking to add an Electrical Panel Technician with networking experience to help expand our business in Texas to new and existing customers. In this role, you will work out of our Houston fabrication facility. This position will be perfect for you if you have a strong mechanical and diagnostic aptitude. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading and understanding electrical schematics and possess a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems and networking environments. The primary responsibilities will include building back panel assemblies, wiring and electrical sub panels, and operating tools and testing equipment. Additionally, the technician will be expected to assemble electrical or electronic systems, install components, units, sub-assemblies, wiring, or assembly casings using rivets, bolts, and soldering equipment. Adjusting, repairing, or replacing electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and ensure conformance to specifications and programming network components are also crucial aspects of the role.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble electronic panels as per wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Perform basic networking tasks such as setting up modems, switches, and configuring network equipment.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a vocational program or apprenticeship in electronics, or 3-5 years of experience in assembling electrical or electronic systems.
- Electrical panel assembly experience is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding engineering drawings and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to cut, strip, terminate, and land wires and cables.
- Ability to terminate Cat5 and Cat6 network cables.
- PLC and/or network device programming experience
- Ability to perform fault diagnostics and performing maintenance as needed.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with vendors, customers, and colleagues via email and other communication channels.
- Ability to complete projects independently based on Electrical Wiring Schematics, Bill of Material, and Mechanical diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of residential and/or small business networking principles.
- Familiarity with networking equipment such as modems, routers, switches etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Capability to push and/or pull up to 25 pounds.
- Continuous standing and/or walking for extended periods on concrete surfaces.
- Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, reach, climb, and/or stoop as needed throughout the shift.
- Vision abilities including proximate vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Proficiency in effectively seeing and processing computer-generated images on screens or handheld devices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in electronic panel assembly and testing.
- Basic networking experience, configuring routers, switches, devices. Network scans, locating devices, troubleshooting etc.
- Understanding of electrical codes and regulations.
- Familiar with low voltage DC systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
