Job Summary:Shipfitter
We are seeking a skilled Shipfitter to join our team. The Shipfitter will be responsible for assembling and fitting parts to form complete units or subunits using precision measuring instruments and power tools.
Duties: Shipfitter
- Assemble and fit parts according to specifications
- Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
- Perform heavy lifting as needed
- Utilize power tools for cutting, grinding, and shaping materials
- Apply mechanical knowledge to interpret blueprints and schematics
- Rig and weld components as necessary
- Ensure all work meets quality standards
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipfitter or in a similar role preferred
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate power tools safely
- Mechanical knowledge to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong customer service skills for effective communication with team members
Nice-to-Have Skills: Shipfitter
- Experience in assembly work
- Familiarity with rigging techniques
- Welding skills
- Military experience is a plus Shipfitter
