The Barren River District Health Department serves the residents and visitors of Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson, and Warren counties of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. BRDHD staff are committed to providing essential public health services in the community. The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Public Health Nurse I, Grade 17 to work at the District office, but will serve all eight counties (Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson and Warren).
Responsibilities:
- TB investigation and control activities
- TB direct observed therapies home visits
- Investigation and case management of patients with communicable diseases
- Care coordination and follow-up with local medical providers, state program consultants, and client family members
- Data collection and analysis; outreach
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements:
- The minimum requirement is an Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing.
- Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA).
- Applicant must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

The minimum hourly wage is $22.38.
