Description:
UIC is seeking to hire a full-time Operations Manager to join the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) team. The Operations Manager for CSI plays a pivotal role in enhancing the overall student experience by managing the day-to-day operations and logistics of CSI. This is a key position responsible for providing exemplary service to students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders engaging with the CSI's programs and services This position involves overseeing customer interactions, managing inquiries, and implementing strategies to enhance the overall customer experience with CSI and overseeing administrative processes to foster a vibrant and engaged campus community.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Customer Service:
-
Serves as the chief customer service manager for the Center for Student Involvement

Manages inquiries through various channels, including in-person visits, phone calls, emails, and social media.

Provides accurate and timely information to address questions related to student organizations, events, and involvement opportunities.

Handles customer concerns and conflicts in a professional and diplomatic manner, working to find resolutions that align with university policies and values.

Collaborates with other campus departments as needed to address complex issues.
- Student Organizations Support:
-
Helps to resolve front-level student organization issues.

Manages the Outdoor requests/work order systems for Student Organizations and departmental initiatives within the Center for Student Involvement and 3 South offices.

Supervises the Classroom Reservation Request process for Student Organizations
- Events and Program Support:
-
Helps to manage the ticket distribution process for Flames in the City.
- Adds in logistics and support for major programs.

Coordinates logistics and provide support for End-of-the-semester / Year programming including Impact Day, awards ceremonies, etc. for the Center for Student Involvement and the other 3 South Student Engagement offices.

Liaises with on-campus entities such as UIC Parking, Facilities Management, UIC Police, and others to aid in the execution of key departmental initiatives and events.
- Other Duties:
-
Creates and assists with new vendor forms, miscellaneous vouchers, and internal/external contracts.

Understands and articulates various federal, state, and local laws and mandates related to Center for Student Involvement.

Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners both on and off campus.

Contributes to Center for Student Involvement annual, monthly reports, and staff weekly updates

Plan and support assessments of the Center for Student Involvement initiatives as well as select priority events, and student staff learning.

Represents the Center for Student Involvement on university-wide committees.

Hires, trains, develops, and manages full/part-time staff, graduate staff, and student leaders to ensure that a qualified individual joins the team and meets CSI’s mission and goals.

Support day-to-day office operations. Interview, hire, orient, lead, mentor, and evaluate staff to meet departmental and organizational needs.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- A total of one (1) year (12 months) demonstrated experience with logistics and navigating university systems to support student organizations and/or event planning on campus.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Five + years of experience in administering higher educational event programming and advising / supervising students

Extensive experience working at the University of Illinois Chicago
