Summary of Role and Function:
The Manufacturing Supervisor oversees the planning and organization of the manufacturing process and ensures availability of necessary material, equipment and labor resources required for a project. The Supervisor oversees the hiring, orientation and training of technical assembly employees to ensure a competent workforce. He or she assists with planning and directing an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials. The Manufacturing Supervisor ensures assembly performance; volume and quality goals are met by utilizing efficient methods and maintaining appropriate staffing levels. The Manufacturing Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. The Supervisor ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adheres to approved budgets. Additionally, the Manufacturing Supervisor may fill additional roles as needed and directed including, but not limited to, roles such as supporting other departments.

Job duties are the major or most important tasks to be performed by this position. The duties must be clear and specific of the work tasks to be performed and must include the periodic schedule that is required for each task such as continuous, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or on an annual basis.
a. Report for work on time, every time.
b. Effectively and efficiently Supervise the assembly of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimizing costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are maintained at all times.
c. Attend various meetings and give direction/communicate instructions
d. Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
e. Support the Assembly Leads and employees in balancing workload and available resources.
f. Address employee issues and/or grievances and administer corrective actions that benefit the employee and company in the best possible way.
g. Inform Manufacturing Manager of violations that warrant employee suspensions and terminations and maintain accurate records of verbal counseling when given.
h. Analyze assembly and quality control to detect, analyze and correct problems
i. Conduct Interviews when hiring for the Manufacturing Department.
j. Assists with issues on the floor.
k. Oversee Leads work performance
l. Other duties as required.
Key Responsibilities:

a. Employee must be responsible for their own Safety.
b. Supervisor must be responsible for all subordinate employee’s Safety
c. Employee must read and fully understand the latest version of the Electronic Power Design, Inc. Employee Manual available on the PayChex website portal and in the Human Resources office.
d. Define and fulfill target goals for quality Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for the department.
e. Review personnel performance to determine individuals most suited for promotion.
f. Organizing workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
g. Ensure that all leads and employees are completing daily time balancing in the ERP system.
h. Ensure that all leads and employees are carrying out accurate job labor entry.
i. Ensure that all leads and employees are enforcing that assembly workers complete work orders in the ERP system in real time as completed.
j. Ensure that the Leads have clearly communicated the Daily Work Expectations to all Work Groups
k. Ensure that all resources are made available to the Leads and Work Group employees to achieve their Daily Work Expectations
l. Resolve any and all obstacles that could potentially obstruct and/or prevent Daily Work Expectations from being met.
m. Manage Workflow Progress of all sections that flow normally throughout the manufacturing area.
n. Monitor normal Manufacturing Workflow and resolve all issues
o. Ensure output meets quality standards.
p. Determine amount of necessary resources while properly managing overtime.
q. Network with other Supervisors to formulate objectives and understand requirements
r. Determine and implement improvements to the assembly process.
s. Maintain a safe and organized work area at all times, and report all potentially hazardous equipment, conditions, or activities.
t. Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company policy.
u. Other duties as assigned.
3. Key Qualifications:
There may be a difference between the skills required to get the job and the skills required to perform the job. For example, even if our company requires candidates to have an engineering degree as a Prerequisite before our company hires them, the candidate may still need to be trained on the characteristics of the product and the tools used to produce the product. 1. High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
2. Some college experience or associates degree/certificate preferred.

1. 3+ years’ experience in assembly or manufacturing plant operations
2. 2+ years’ lead or group experience
3. Experience with Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint), ERP Systems and menu-based software.
4. Experience in reporting and developing policies.
