Warning: This is not your typical generic job posting, it's worth reading if you're looking for some honest info about this job.
We have an opening for a front desk staff position. As a front desk staff member you'll primarily be responsible for entering patient data into the computer, scheduling patients, and collecting payment. You've probably seen a lot of other job listings for 'Chiropractic Assistant (CA)', 'Chiropractic Receptionist', and the like. While these jobs all share a lot in common, if you've ever had a job like this before you know that the number of responsibilities (and stress) can be significantly different depending on the clinic. In this posting we'd like to give you a better idea than others about what you'll be doing, what you won't be doing, and how we're different than other clinics. We think this is important because for a lot of people, a $20 an hour job where you're stressed out all the time from too many work demands isn't better than a $16 an hour job that is fun, low stress, and encourages personal growth.
Let's start with what you won't be doing. A lot of other chiropractic 'front desk' staff positions at other clinics require these tasks in addition to answering phones and scheduling.
- No hard selling. No nutritional supplement pushing. No sales targets. We're here to heal people in pain, not sell them things they don't want.
- No long scripts to memorize. No practicing sales pitches. We like talking with and creating great relationships with our patients, not giving them seminars.
- No double duty of front desk and billing. A lot of clinics want the 'front desk' staff to do all the billing too. We have separate billing staff that handle all the insurance problems.
- No having to follow the doctor around like a personal assistant. The doctors write their own notes and (usually) clean up their own messes.
- No required seminars, webinars, offsite training. We teach and train new staff ourselves.
Now that we've gotten those out of the way, here's what our front desk team does.
- Scheduling patients using our Chirotouch software, both in person, over the phone, and through email/text.
- Collect payment (usually using a credit card machine) from patients every visit and enter them in Chirotouch.
- File documents in Chirotouch from patients, providers, from the fax or mail.
- Process record requests, fax documents.
- Assist patients with paperwork
