Bethel Christian Academy (BCA) Job Description Overview
Serves as campus administrative leader, responsible for implementing policies and procedures, providing teacher support, addressing student issues, and interacting with parents.
Assists with development of class schedules, student class placement, evaluation of student achievement, disciplining and advising students, consulting and facilitating school activities, programs, and parent involvement.
Responsible for managing the assigned campus operations, which includes daily activities, processes for meeting operational needs, and coordination with maintenance staff to provide the school staff, students, and visitors with a safe and secure environment.
Involved in the development of the school. This includes participating in administrative conferences and workshops for personal professional growth and for access to resources for school development. Responsible for providing information and recommendations to the Principal regarding school needs and ideas for improvement in all areas.
Reports directly to the School Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education (or equivalent experience)
Teaching experience, preferably at the K-8th grade level

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Staffing and Staff Development
Cooperate with the Principal in recruiting, interviewing, and making recommendations concerning employment
Implement processes for the recruitment and hiring of personnel to meet the needs of the school
Negotiate employee contracts relative to designated positions in accordance with established salary scales
Provide annual policy and procedure orientation to assigned personnel
Implement established procedures for accountability of staff members
Supervise and evaluate performance of assigned staff
Support and facilitate performing arts teachers in the planning and performance of special programs
Provide activities which facilitate the professional growth and development of assigned staff
Conduct or arrange for daily devotions and prayer
Communicate effectively to the campus staff regarding events, activities, and administrative direction/information
Maintain a list of qualified substitute teachers and contact substitute teachers as needed when regular faculty is out
Oversee kitchen at assigned campus; provide substitute kitchen workers when regular staff members are out
2. New Student Enrollment
Participate in marketing decisions to increase enrollment
Collaborate with other administrators in the development of admissions paperwork
Conduct school tours as needed
Arrange for prospective students to “shadow” a class
Provide evaluation and testing of potential students as needed
Review results of enrollment evaluation; consult with Principal if any concerns exist and make recommendations regarding acceptance
Interview students and parents seeking acceptance
3. Curriculum and Instruction
Give input and recommendations regarding improvements to the instructional program and educational goals including the use of specific instructional materials
Provide leadership to assigned staff in communicating educational goals and objectives for the school and in evaluating the attainment of those goals and objectives
Review use of field trips and enrichment activities for student instruction for assigned grades
Encourage and facilitate the use of instructional technology
Assist with creating teacher schedules
Provide accountability for teacher curriculum implementation through classroom observations and supervision of instruction for assigned grades
Provide accountability for teachers regarding academic and behavioral record keeping and reporting for assigned grades
Assist with class placement of students to maximize academic balance and minimize behavioral distractions
Evaluate student progress by reviewing student academic data such as report cards
Discuss student achievement based on review of the annual standardized achievement tests results
Assist with events and activities such as academic fairs related to the BCA academic program
4. Student Services
Facilitate new student orientation
Maintain and use student records in compliance with legal constraints and government policies
Provide leadership and support for services which will foster the well-being of students and provide for their individual needs
Provide information and organize academic support for students
Oversee behavior management policies and procedures at assigned campus
Provide discipline and guidance to students as necessary
Provide supervision and direction to the middle school student leadership team (if assigned to the middle school campus)
5. School Community Advancement
Participate in planning and developing an effective organizational framework to bring together the school’s staff, students, parents, facilities, and programs
Facilitate positive school climate through relationship building with teachers, staff, students, and parents
Support the school parent organization by facilitating activities that support the school’s mission
Contribute to the school newsletter and weekly email notifications to keep parents informed of school events and activities
Communicate effectively to parents regarding information of interest to them as stakeholders in BCA
Establish a responsive relationship with parents and meet with them to address areas of concern when they arise
Encourage and support staff, students, and parents in their desires and suggestions for community advancement and outreach
6. School Operations
Supervise the operation of the school’s facilities at the assigned campus
Support operational business procedures to enhance the school’s overall program
Be aware of budget constraints and effectively manage cost expenditures
Conduct continuous needs assessments
Implement policies and procedures established by the administrative team
Assist with the documentation of all aspects of school policy
Ensure that daily routines are established and implemented at the assigned campus
Oversee schedule of kitchen staff and provide substitute staff when needed
Be aware of food preparation requirements and practices at the assigned campus in accordance with health department regulations
Assess the general condition and needs of the building and grounds and report them to the maintenance staff
Coordinate with maintenance staff regarding the safety and security of the assigned campus
Communicate with the tech support staff regarding administrative and instructional technology issues
Use the school administration database efficiently and appropriately to ensure the accuracy of staff and student data and to document student incidents, parent communication, and staff accountability
Maintain Medication Technician registration to be able to fill in when assigned MT is not available.
7. School Development
Attend administrative conferences and training to grow professionally in school leadership
Communicate with the Principal to make recommendations for growth and program development
Participate in annual school-year planning
8. School - Church Relations
Meet with the school administration and designated representative(s) of the Bethel Board of Directors or other advisors as scheduled by the pastor
Help ensure that school announcements are provided for the weekly church bulletin
Attend church events planned for the support of the school
9. Fulfill other duties as needed and directed by the Principal
