Island Crest Builders is seeking a Skilled Carpenter to join our team in the Seattle/Mercer Island area. ICB builds and remodels homes and multi-unit residences throughout the greater Seattle area. Our primary office is located on Mercer Island.
Summary
As a Finish Carpenter you will be familiar with all standard carpentry techniques and be responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings.
A successful applicant will have extensive experience in construction and be able to both oversee construction sites as well as be a competent carpenter with their own tools. The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, with excellent attention to detail and able to excel in a fast paced and ever- changing environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct repair work & installation of doors, window, drywall, cabinets, stairs and other fixtures, as required
- Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Deliver projects on time and on budget
- Maintain a safe and clean job site
- Manage all aspects of the on-site construction process, including the on-site construction team
- Coordinate and oversee all work on site, including managing schedules and meeting deadlines
- Manage subcontractors, vendors and contract fulfillment
- Assisting PMs with structural design, planning, layout, and installation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Required Qualifications:
- Two-year college Associates degree or Bachelors’ degree preferred
- Minimum of five years of construction experience with at least three years in supervision and construction-related management, or equivalent experience
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or a minimum of four years’ experience as a journey- level carpenter
- Additional certification may be required
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of mathematics
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, quality and professionalism
- Demonstrated ability to follow through on projects
- Extensive field experience and knowledge of construction practices is a plus
- Experienced and knowledgeable in all construction trades is also a plus
- Able to read architectural drawings and structural specification sheet.
- Ability to work well on a team and on your own
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
