As Veterinary Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in our mission to enhance the lives of pets and their people. Position Skills:
- Assist our veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures, providing gentle and comforting care to the animals.
- Handle and restrain animals with care and professionalism, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Perform routine procedures such as administering vaccinations, taking vital signs, and collecting laboratory samples.
- Perform cytology (hematology, urinalysis, ear, fecal).
- Proficient in dental prophylaxis
- Surgical preparation and monitoring of patients under anesthesia
- Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols of fellow staff members
- Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and X-rays
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, as well as assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the clinic.
- Monitor the well-being of patients before, during, and after procedures, promptly addressing any concerns or changes in condition.
- Educate pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and treatment plans, offering guidance and answering questions.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient care, treatment plans, and client communications.
- Assist with client check-ins and appointments, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere for both pets and their owners.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, offering guidance on post-treatment care and answering their questions with patience and empathy.
- Participate in educational programs and workshops to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine
Position Requirements:
- Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling
- Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations, and work with others on a team respectfully
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- A genuine love for animals and a strong sense of empathy towards their needs and emotions.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to empathize and connect with both animal patients and their human companions.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, fostering a harmonious and supportive work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle challenging situations with composure and professionalism.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure continuous care for our animal patients
