Description
Leidos Defense Systems is seeking an Entry Level Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL to perform real-time software development and integration tasks in support of force protection contracts. This work may also encompass a number of other areas including modeling and simulation. Candidates will be expected to apply existing knowledge and acquire new skills to help solve complex problems, all while gaining experience in the development and delivery of software solutions for U.S government customers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to design and develop software solutions, document results and findings, and/or support test and integration of software systems.
- Apply previously acquired skills and knowledge to technical tasks.
- Effectively communicate with engineers in an Agile Scrum environment regarding current task
- Incorporating continuous integration processes like automated testing
Basic Qualifications
- Must have B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with Object-Oriented programming through course work, lab projects, and previous internships.
- Demonstrate problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a DoD secret security clearance - US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with C++, C#, or Python programming through course work, lab projects, and previous internships.
- Unit/Integration testing
- Networking topics such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, switching, routing, and network virtualization
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

Pay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
