RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to clinical supervisor and practice administrator/office manager
- Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician/midwife/nurse practitioner
- Assist physician/midwife/sonogram technician/nurse practitioner in exam room with office visits and office based procedures
- Escort patients to exam room, interview patents, measure vital signs (including weight, blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and document all information in patient's chart
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician/midwife/nurse practitioner/sonogram technician
- Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patient's medical records prior to their appointment
- Keep exam rooms clean and stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain and sterilize and prepare instruments as required
- Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Triage and process messages from patients and front staff to physician/midwife/nurse practitioner
- Perform phlebotomy
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, medications, expired medications, sterilization, lab,urinalysis, referral, etc.)
- Collection of patient copayments
- Check patient eligibility and obtain Insurance authorization for procedures, medications and surgeries as needed
- All other duties as assigned by clinical supervisor or practice administrator/ office manager

- Exceptional Customer Service and Telephone and Office Etiquette
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
- The ability to perform phlebotomy
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma, some college preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification / Phlebotomy Certification

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
