Position Purpose: Provide engineering support and or leadership for projects: capital, process & product development, and research & development in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project engineering/management including developing scope of work, engineering drawings, technical specifications, schedule, and job costing.

Research alternatives and recommend optimal solutions to assigned projects

Manage equipment suppliers, internal resources and outside vendors and contractors to meet project goals

Communicate continually with management on project plans and status

Ensure a safe and proper work environment by compliance with Company, OSHA, SQF, local, state, and federal standards and regulations.

Perform high level troubleshooting to optimize efficiency, safety, quality, and downtime

Provide equipment and process support to manufacturing
-
Train and instruct maintenance, production and quality personnel
-
Follow company procedures and policies
-
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Knowledge & Experience:
-
BS or BE in Engineering required
-
Proficient in CAD: AutoCAD or SolidWorks
-
5+ years project engineering experience
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
-
Experience with plastic processing, paperboard converting processes, and or high volume manufacturing preferred
-
Self-starter. Must be able to work independently

Must be mechanically inclined

Strong reasoning, analytical, and problem solving skills

Must communicate effectively in all situations with strong written and interpersonal skills.

Understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English

Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with plant personnel, peers, project team, and management

Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing proper safety gear

Must be able to stand on their feet routinely, stoop, squat, reach, climb stairs & ladders, and lift up to 35 lbs.

Must comply with all plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements
Safety:

Proper use of all safety equipment (i.e., proper use of personal protective gear including hair net, beard net, gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses).

Travel: Domestic travel less than 20%
