General Manager Job Description
I. Opportunity Summary:
Our client is a well-established automotive retailer who is looking for an experienced and talented General Manager to run one of their new car retail locations in the regional area.
The General Manager must have experience growing a successful automotive retail store, and must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a General Manager at a new car dealership.
II. Position Responsibilities:
The General Manager leads the team towards accomplishing the common goal of becoming the best automotive retailer in the region.
The General Manager's primary responsibilities are as follows:
Customer Service:
- Create a concierge like customer service experience where all customers feel engaged and tended to.
- Have in-depth knowledge of all products sold, and brands represented.
- Handle all guest challenges and requests in a timely manner.
Marketing, Sales, Operations & Finance:
- Develop a store specific marketing plan that supports sales revenue growth.
- Create compelling dealership promotions and relationship building marketing events.
- Build consistent immediacy into the sales activities to achieve store sales goals and objectives.
- Streamline dealership operations and implement operational efficiencies and cost saving measures.
- Tour complete facility daily and make sure it is clean, safe, and well maintained.
- Develop an annual financial budget.
- Monitor cash flow levels each day, and review inventory levels and receivable levels.
Team Leadership & Culture:
- Lead weekly meetings with all department Managers.
- Set a course of action with timelines to accomplish goals.
- Set and accomplish CSI, and market leadership goals.
- Foster a workplace of mutual respect, and honor and treat all team members equally.
- Know all team members on a first name basis and address them by name.
- Publicly recognize outstanding performance of team members and associates.
III. Position Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have 3-5 years of experience as a General Manager at a successful automotive retailer.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience as a General Manager at an automotive retailer in the United Sates is required.
- Solid leadership skills, and experience managing and developing teams are required.
- Must have great communication skills, and be able to negotiate and manage people's expectations.
- Have the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with team members.
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
- Must be able to clear a local, regional, and national background check.
IV. Compensation & Benefits Package:
- Compensation: $150,000-$200,000 USD per year.
