Ambulatory Surgery Center specializing in Neuro and Ortho, has Pre-Op/PACU positions available. The ideal candidate will have exceptional conflict resolution skills and be able to quickly adapt to changing environments.

Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida or Multi-State.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN, with previous experience in Pre-Op /PACU a must.
- Critical Care experience a plus.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (current and maintained).
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining patient safety.
- Bi-lingual a plus
Key tasks and responsibilities for Pre-Op Nurse:
1. Prepares pre-operatively for patient admission according to Center policies and procedures.
2. Demonstrates knowledge of drug usage, their actions and side effects, interactions with anesthesia agents and expected outcomes.
3. Recognizes emergency situations, response quickly and efficiently following policy and procedure, ACLS, PALS, physician orders or emergency plan to prevent adverse patient outcomes.
4. Maintains knowledge and adheres to policies/procedure, care standards for Pre-operative care.
5. Ensures patient meets admit requirements before patient goes for surgery.
6. Provides verbal and written instructions to family or responsible party during pre-operative period about the whole surgical experience.
7. Document that assessments, interventions and patient outcomes are performed according to policy and procedure and Center standards
8. Restocks supplies/equipment and medications to maintain adequate levels for patient care.
9. Medications are checked for expiration dates.
10. Supplies/medications are rotated so that outdates are at a minimum.
11. Demonstrates continued competence in assessing, treating, and caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective.
12. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position.
13. Performs appropriate nursing duties during procedures, which pertain to pain management using current nursing standards as well as hospital standards.
14. Completes all documentation to ensure the availability of accurate and up to date information in accordance with established standards.
15. Adheres to established Center safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
16. Demonstrates the safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.
17. Demonstrates the importance of continuing education to the performance of Center responsibilities and growth in profession.
18. Communicates patient information to assure confidentiality and continuity of care.
19. Interacts with all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees in a mature, responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional Center environment.
Key task and Responsibilities for PACU Registered Nurse:
1. Assess and monitor patients' post-operative condition, ensuring their safety and comfort during the recovery phase.
2. Administer medications, IV fluids, and pain management interventions as prescribed by physicians.
3. Monitor vital signs, observe for any complications, and promptly report any changes in patient condition.
4. Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
5. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding post-operative care, pain management, and discharge instructions.
6. Assist in the preparation and transport of patients to and from the operating room.
7. Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment.
8. Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
