The Spanish teacher works with students in grades 4th through the 8th grade in a Montessori environment using a variety of teaching methods and tools to teach students with various learning styles. It is necessary to prepare and carry out a variety of lesson plans that teach the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). Basic, practical Spanish vocabulary revolving around everyday life is taught, incorporating the thematic units in each of the classes. It is also necessary to help students overcome difficulties and meet with them during extra help sessions during IW times. Assignments must be graded in a timely manner and posted in Jupiter grades and it is also necessary to communicate with parents via syllabi, email and Jupiter grades. Lesson plans and assignments will sometimes involve teaching special projects. In addition to working during school hours, you may also take assignments home to grade, meet with parents after hours or supervise student extracurricular activities (Parent nights, Student Showcase, End of the Year Show, cultural events, service projects, etc.)
