Position: Cafe Server and Bartender
Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager
Hours: Approximately 20-40 hours per week
Pay: $15/hr plus tips

Position Description:
The Dog Society is looking for professional, energetic, and organized people to join our food and beverage team.
The right candidate has a positive attitude and strong customer service background. Ability to multitask beer, and small bites while prioritizing guests needs in a fast paced location. The Barista and Brewtender support The Dog Society’s mission and vision of being the best people friendly dog company in San Diego.
Cafe Server and Bartender Job Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet guests, addressing them by name (and dogs name) whenever possible.
- Inform guests of specials and menu changes; answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services, making recommendations where applicable.
- Knowledge of all beers on tap. Including; where they are brewed, type of beer, flavors, if any are dairy or gluten free, what order to taste them in etc.
- Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system. Accept payment, count change or process credit card charges.
- Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely manner to their table
- Monitor guest dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service, responding promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
- Maintain clean service areas by clearing and cleaning tables, washing equipment and minimal dishes..
- Perform prep and closing work at the start and end of each shift as required by management including food prep, cash handling, reports and deposits
- Record inventory and restock all products
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings, training, team buildings, bring ideas and suggestions for improvements.
- Understanding all programs, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.
- Understand the philosophy of The Dog Society management and owners. Displays consistent attention to detail and follow through of all restaurant policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Must be 21+
- Food Handlers card must be valid at time of start date
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including; evening, weekend, and holiday hours
- Excellent communication skills - This includes having a friendly, outgoing, energetic and guest service-oriented demeanor.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated work manner
- High level of integrity and responsibility - This position requires someone that is team-oriented and willing to work above and beyond the job description
- Customer Service and Serving experience preferred
- Ability to legally card guests to verify age and politely refuse intoxicated customers
- Ability to prioritize, multi task, and problem solve while working well in a team environment
