As a Procurement Assistant at Schaefer Plastics, your main responsibilities will be to work at our manufacturing facility, where you will order raw materials and supplies, maintain purchase order details, and coordinate various procurement-related tasks. Since this role is newly created, your responsibilities may change as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Placing orders with vendors for routine and established raw materials and supplies for the plant
- Reviewing on-hand inventories and pending large orders for net needs
- Collaborating with the Director of Materials and Logistics to review suggested orders
- Maintaining purchase order details in AX for all entered POs
- Closing and ending old POs as necessary
- Processing and reviewing cycle counts as prepared by B2 and B4 personnel
- Processing reclaim orders
- Participating in the implementation of a new recycling program as needed
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) experience
- Ability to refrain from using cell phones during the work day other than during breaks
