Job purpose
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering and a proven track record in sales, preferably within the pump manufacturing industry. As a Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth within your designated region, building, and maintaining relationships with customers, and providing technical expertise and support.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Growth Strategy:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to drive sales growth within assigned territories.
- Promote and support the full range of products from Hidrostal, providing technical expertise and assistance to customers.
- Implement Marketing and Sales operating plans to meet agreed sales volume and profit targets specific to the region.
- Expand the Hidrostal brand presence throughout the sales territory, prioritizing customer service and support.
- Achieve and maintain profitability objectives by effectively managing price setting and operating costs.
- Maintain appropriate levels of sales activity to ensure success with customers and sales representatives.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and nurture relationships with new and existing end-user and aftermarket customers.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers to meet their specific needs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and concerns, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
Sales Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Provide coaching, training, and support to enhance sales skills and product knowledge.
- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate sales activities and optimize performance.
Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and analyses to evaluate performance and inform strategic decision-making.
Trade Shows and Events:
- Represent Hidrostal at industry trade shows, conferences, and events within the region.
- Showcase products, engage with potential customers, and network with industry professionals to promote brand awareness and generate leads.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 5 years of management/technical sales experience working in industrial or wastewater pump markets.
- Candidate must be experienced in sales and Rep/Distributor management in the pump industry.
- Strong technical knowledge in all aspects of the wastewater pumping and a proven track record of successful sales channel management, technical sales, and specification influence, as well as managing a complex sales relationship cycle.
- Must have a sound working knowledge of pumps, technical understanding pump performance & application and experience in writing and influencing specifications with regional and national consulting engineers.
- Ability to engage in strategic plan development, deliver results, maintain pipeline reports and business plans within assigned deadlines.
- Capable of motivating & supporting Manufacturer’s Representatives and Distributors as well as competently presenting key product and application advantages to engineers and end users in a variety of industries.
- Proficient computer skills and working knowledge and disciplined use of CRM software.
- Strong oral & written communication skills (presentation and interpersonal skills)
- Customer focused and understanding of the Rep/Engineer/Contractor/End User relationship matrix.
Working conditions
- Travel minimum 50% as required to fulfill the duties listed above.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Ability to travel overnight.
Physical requirements
- Some level of physical fitness required to climb stairs, ladders, pull/lift things.
- Must occasionally lift/ transport up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
