The Materials Manager is responsible for ordering, monitoring, and receiving supplies and equipment for the Center. This person will also provide scrub tech support/coverage in the OR.
Job Responsibilities

Maintains current files, records, and catalogs for equipment and sales representatives that service PSC
- Research vendors to locate specialized equipment as requested by the Medical Staff and approved by Administration
- Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate vendors to obtain appropriate equipment and supplies
- Meets with vendor reps to review new items available and to review changes in pricing
- Responsible for maintaining proper levels of inventory and timely distribution of materials
- Place orders in a timely manner when requested by departments and monitors them to ensure correct and timely delivery
- Demonstrates appropriate response to changes in schedule to avoid delays in providing supplies/equipment
- Reviews schedules well in advance to anticipate any unusual demands for supplies
- Reviews invoices for accuracy by coordinating packing slips with purchase orders
- Maintains and frequently reviews records of warranties and preventative maintenance requirements and contracts
Required Education

High School Diploma or GED
- Training or courses in Materials Management
Qualifications and Skills

Previous Operating Room or ASC experience preferred
- Familiarity with surgical instruments and equipment
- Surgical Tech and/or SPD Experience required
- Strong ethical and moral character references
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians and with their office personnel, coworkers, and other healthcare facilities in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner
- Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, and general public
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems
- Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American English
