We're looking for a Director of Operations with 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. In this role you will work with the leadership team to make decisions for financial and operational activities that will allow the business to achieve goals in a timely and cost effective manner. Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
LMA – Lead, Manager & Hold direct reports accountable
· Lead by example exhibiting Company Core Values
· Hold direct reports accountable to their specified responsibilities as well as guiding them with focus of Company Core Values
· Manage and run departmental weekly meeting
· Manage and run departmental quarterly meeting for achievement of departmental goals that support the overall company goals (1 year, 3 year, and 10 year goals).
· Hold Quarterly Conversations (i.e. performance review, discussion, and feedback) with all direct reports
Safety
· Cultivate a culture of safety for the Production/Warehouse Team
· Participate and Support the Plant Manager’s safety training of P/W Team
Purchasing – Inventory Management – Vendor Management
· Manage relationships, negotiations, and agreements with external vendors/partners for cost of goods and plant management.
· Getting multiple quotes for comparable/same specs
· Understanding importance of specs (some specs are preferred; some are mandatory)
· Forecasting volumes to correctly time/space purchases and consider blanket orders where necessary (or beneficial)
· Ensure BOM and costing is accurately set up in accounting software.
· Work with Plant Manager/Production Scheduler for PO management
· Manage Inventory Reconciliation Process utilizing Plant Manager and Warehouse Lead.
Budget Forecasting
· Prepare operating budget for review and approval with President
· Implement and control approved budgets
· Keep track of raw material increases (and decreases) relative to baseline used for last adjustment; weekly review with President
Production Schedule Planning (personnel and production lines)
· Determine best utilization of production lines with existing workforce relative to existing Sales Orders and Sales Forecast
· Understand capacity of existing equipment lines per shift, staggered shifts, and multiple shifts and plan to best utilize as needed;
· Work with Plant Manager to confirm production schedule plan
Product Development Support (NPD) – CAPEX Support
· Viability – costing and logistics
· Manage process for all new supplies (boxes, bottles, film, labels, etc.)
· Planning using existing space; (i.e. getting most of existing space)
· Planning for equipment needs (short term and long term)
· Determine ROI for projects to support decision by Leadership Team
Operations – Contingency Plans
Have back up/contingency plans for the following:
-Equipment downtime (short term and long term scenarios)
- Employee illness (multiple, key players, short & long term)
-Natural disaster (power interruption, plant damage, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations or Business Management required, Master's Degree preferred
- Manufacturing industry experience required
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in operations, maintenance, engineering and/or process Improvement roles including managing teams of people
- Previous experience working in a Lean environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, but not required

Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
