Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly service-oriented manner.

Maintain regular attendance as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including adherence to uniform standards.

Ensure compliance with Logos and Brand regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

Register guests and assign rooms, as well as process guest check-outs.

Aid in pre-registration and blocking of rooms for reservations.

Adhere to proper credit, check cashing, and cash-handling policies and procedures.

Understand room status and room status tracking.
-
Understand room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
-
Use selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.

Notify housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests, and part-day rooms.

Take same-day reservations and future reservations when necessary.

Know cancellation procedures.

Effectively use Guest Services equipment.

Posts and files all charges to guest, master, and city ledger accounts.

Uses proper telephone etiquette.
-
Uses proper mail, packaging, and message handling procedures.
-
Attends department meetings.

Coordinates guest room maintenance work with the engineering and maintenance division.

Knows all safety and emergency procedures. Is aware of accident prevention policies.

Completes duties and confirms on shift checklist as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.

This position requires diligence and the ability to communicate effectively.

Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.

Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations.
The Guest Services Associate is the first impression and last impression for our guests, from greeting and registering, to providing excellent service during their stay, to settling the guest’s account upon completion of their stay. Primarily, the GSA is responsible for registering guests, modifying reservations, and general concierge responsibilities, always providing courteous and efficient service to all guests prior to and throughout their stay, while maximizing revenue and room occupancy.
