Eastern Dermatology is looking for an RN to join our team. We are a private dermatology practice, and offer an excellent benefit package including: paid health insurance, 401(K) after 1 year, life insurance, long term disability, flexible spending, annual raises, yearly bonuses based on merit, 36-hour work week, 4 hours of paid time on Friday afternoons, and many other benefits. All locations close at 12:00pm on Fridays; Employees who have worked 36 hours by 12:00pm on Friday are paid for 40 hours, equating to 26 days per calendar year. No weekends and no holidays.
The RN position involves working directly with well-established MOHS surgeon. Physician also travels to our New Bern, NC location at least once monthly. Surgical experience preferred.
Hourly rate will be discussed during interview/hiring process. Excellent benefit package. No phone calls please.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
- Perform initial assessment and evaluation of the patient
- Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure teaching for both the patient and the family members
- Provide assistance during surgery or other procedures as indicated by the physician
- Prepare the patient for their procedure by prepping the area, draping with sterile drapes, setting up a clean tray with local anesthesia, preparing instruments with sterile technique. Scrub in as an assistant to the surgeon when necessary.
- Prepare and administer medications to the patients including but not limited to local anesthesia, oral antibiotics and oral anxiolytics.
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation for all medications administered under physician direction
- Ability to utilize the EHR (EMA) for daily tasks and for documentation as directed by the physician
- Under physician direction authorize medication refills
- Under physician supervision, return patient calls and relay appropriate information to the supervising physician.
- Correctly disposes of biohazard materials
- Schedule appointments for patients
- Change dressings on wounds and suture removal
Skills:
- Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach
- Proficient in medical administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Excellent patient care skills with attention to detail and safety protocols
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a clinical/surgical setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Current BLS
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
