Position Summary
The Control Systems Engineer plays a critical role in the engineering and design of electric drive products at BenchMark Wireline Products. The Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for programing, testing, and expanding capabilities of existing products. Additionally, they will be responsible for designing, documenting, and implementing new products or algorithms as required to meet customer expectations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Program and test control system software using Danfoss Plus +1 software.
- Work with managers and customers to implement new requirements and solve complicated design issues.
- Responsible for designing new algorithms for automation of flagship product lines.
- Electrical and mechanical assembly as required to test and document designs for production use.
- Be able to adapt and function in an environment of changing priorities often under tight time constraints.
- Lead Testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems installed on key product lines.
Qualifications
- Engineering Degree in controls or software-related discipline (Robotics, Electrical, or Mechanical)
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in PLC and HMI systems programming, detailed software engineering, electrical/electronic maintenance.
- Experience with PLCs, Electric motors, Variable Frequency Drives, and software packages.
- Ability to read and understand engineering documentation and concepts like PIDs, electrical schematics, and hydraulic schematics.
- Knowledge and understanding of data communication protocols (Modbus, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, WITS, CAN bus, Ethernet….)
- Familiarity or experience in the designing and commissioning of zone-rated control systems for use in hazardous areas to standards like ATEX and IEC
- Experience in the Oil and Gas industry is preferred.
